Greg Richardson Williams received his Bachelor of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York with a Minor in Electronic Media, Arts and Communication (EMAC), and his Master in Architecture and Urbanism from the Architectural Association Design Research Labin London. Upon receiving the 2004 SOM Research and Traveling Fellowship for Bachelor of Architecture, Williams moved to Vienna, Austria, using the location as a the hub for excursions throughout Austria, Hungary, Slovak Republic, Italy, and Spain. Spanning over six months, the fellowship focused on analyzing a breadth of projects ranging scale, type, and period, from historical works generated during Red Vienna to a spectrum of contemporary projects throughout Europe.
2012 Update: Since completing the fellowship, Williams worked with Tom Wiscombe at Emergent in Vienna, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in the San Francisco and Chicago offices, as well as the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) in London where he has been responsible for projects of various scale and type throughout the United Kingdom, United States, China, The Philippines, and the Middle East. In 2011 Williams founded Williams Ozcelik Architects (WÖ) in Istanbul, Turkey as an architecture, design, design research, and construction management practice.
